Mumbai, Oct 30 (IANS): A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets on Friday was trading 62.64 points or 0.23 percent down during the afternoon session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also down by 8.85 points or 0.11 percent at 8,102.90 points.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,878.48 points, was trading at 26,775.50 points (at 01.55 p.m.) in the afternoon session, down 62.64 points or 0.23 percent from the previous day's close at 26,838.14 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 26,942.29 points and a low of 26,742.53 points in the trade so far.
Good buying was observed in power and metal sectors, while selling pressure was seen in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and auto sectors.
The power index moved up by 1.45 percent and metal index increased by 0.58 percent, while FMCG index plunged by 2.22 percent and auto index dropped by 0.91 percent.
