Kochi, Oct 28 (IANS): Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Kerala Blasters on Wednesday announced that head coach Peter Taylor has left the side and Trevor Morgan will replace him for the rest of the ongoing edition.
"Peter Taylor has left the club with immediate effect following a mutual decision. Kerala Blasters thanks Peter for his efforts and contribution during the association. Trevor Morgan will presently assume the responsibilities of Kerala," the franchise said in a statement.
Kerala currently occupy the eighth and final position in the ISL standings, with four points from six games. The last edition's runners-up have won one and lost four matches so far.
Morgan has experience of coaching in India in the past, leading East Bengal to the Federation Cup and Calcutta League titles during his stint with the Kolkata giants from 2010 to 2013.
The 59-year-old Englishman also guided the club to the semi-finals of the AFC Cup in 2013 where they lost to Kuwait SC. Under his guidance the club remained unbeaten for a record 30 times in a calendar year.
