Gurgaon cop suspended for seeking sex from victim


Mumbai, Oct 28 (Agencies) : Gurgaon police suspended a constable after he allegedly tried to force a 25-year-old woman into establishing physical relations with him in the police station.

The incident occurred at 2 am on Sunday in Farrukh Nagar police station. The woman informed the police about the incident following which she was rescued. The police had earlier rescued the woman from her in-laws house on Saturday after she had called the PCR and the women's helpline number alleging that she was physically and mentally harassed by them.

"The cops put me and my son in a room inside the police station. Around 2 am, a constable named Subhash Kumar entered the room to take case details and assured me that he would teach my in-laws a lesson in return of a one night stand," she said.

Interestingly, the constable was not an investigating officer in the case. "We have suspended the accused constable following the complaint. We have also booked victim's inlaws," said ACP Hawa Singh, Gurgaon police spokesperson.
