Mangaluru, Oct 24: Sanam Hegde (24), son of Rajashree Hegde, state JDS women's wing working president and former vice president of zilla panchayat, and JDS general secretary, Sudarshan Hegde, lost his life all of a sudden under mysterious circumstances on Thursday October 22.
Sanam was a MBA degree holder and had started to work for a private company in the city one and half months back. He was a gifted cricket, volleyball, and snooker player. As per one version, he jumped out of joy after watching a player hitting a six, and collapsed immediately. As it could not be concluded whether he suffered brain haemorrhage or cardiac arrest, postmortem was sought.
As per another version, Sanam suddenly became ill when he was engaged in a party with friends on Thursday. He was admitted into a private hospital, where he breathed his last.
Father of the youth, Sudarshan Hegde, filed a complaint in Kadri police station, seeking detailed probe into this unnatural death. Inspector of the station, Maruti Nayak, said that the police are awaiting the receipt of postmortem report to determine the cause of death.
Beltangady MLA, Vasant Bangera, former MLA, Prabhakar Bangera, and several leaders and dignitaries visited the house of Hegde and condoled the untimely death of the youth.
