Los Angeles, Oct 23 (IANS): Basketball star Lamar Odom, who was put on life support following a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel, has undergone two emergency surgeries and it has taken a toll on his mind.
A source told people.com that the former player underwent a procedure that required general anaesthesia.
"Lamar is in a very fragile state. The infection, that is being aggressively treated with strong intravenous antibiotics, is unfortunately not getting better. There are many concerns about his health," the source said.
Tmz.com. were first to report the news, claiming that Odom has undergone "two emergency surgeries".
"Everyone in the family is texting different people, telling them to pray for him. They haven't said what is wrong with him, but everyone is very concerned. They knew that there could be setbacks and complications, and that's what we're seeing," said another source.
"He's in everyone's prayers right now because he's definitely not out of the woods. He's in God's hands," the source added.
The update comes after a source close the 35-year-old said that he still has a long way to go in his recovery.
"Lamar still can't stand up alone. He has to be helped to a chair right by his bed. He is receiving antibiotics for a respiratory infection. He is also still receiving dialysis," the source said.
