Paris, Oct 20 (IANS): The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 finished the trading day with an advance of 0.03 percent to close at 4,704.07 points, up 1.28 points.
Thanks to the good results of major companies' third quarter results, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly higher on Monday with 23 of the 40 selected stocks gaining advance, Xinhua reported.
The top three gainers on Monday were Danone, up 1.96 percent, Peugeot, up 1.68 percent, and Essilor Intl., up 1.42 percent.
The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday were ArcelorMittal, down 3.00 percent, Vivendi, down 2.12 percent, and Technip, down 1.90 percent.
Veolia Environnement stayed the same as previous trading day.
In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.59 percent to close at 4,702.79, up 27.50 points.
