Tokyo, Oct 19 (IANS): Japan stocks opened slightly lower on Monday as investors moved to lock in profits following recent rallies.
At 9.15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 29.50 points, or 0.16 percent, from Friday to 18,262.30.
The broader Topix index of all first section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 5.20 points, or 0.35 percent, to 1,500.64, Xinhua reported.
Decliners were led by non-ferrous metal, steel and real estate issues.
