Spanish stock market rises


Madrid, Oct 17 (IANS): The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 rose 1.28 percent to close at 10,231.50 points, up from the 10,101.70 points of the previous day.

Share values were down 0.75 percent in the week as a whole with the Spanish risk premium closing at 122.30 points on Friday, slightly above the 121.60 points of a week earlier and Spain's 10 year bond interest rate closing at 1.768 percent, showing no big differences when compared with a week ago.

On Friday's session Mediaset shares led rises climbing 3.65 percent, followed by DIA, Banco Santander, Acciona, Acerinox and Mapfre that, respectively, rose 3.33 percent, 3.06 percent, 2.68 percent, 2.44 percent and 2.29 percent, Xinhua reported.

On the other hand, OHL shares led falls losing 2.85 percent, followed by Gamesa, Amadeus, ArcelorMittal, FCC and R.E.C. that, respectively, lost 1.69 percent, 1.32 percent, 1.12 percent, 0.59 percent and 0. 16 percent.
