Mumbai, Oct 6 (IANS): Director Sudhir Mishra has altered the title of his forthcoming film "Aur Devdas" as he thinks the title would create a doubt about the film's subject.
"I have changed the title for 'Aur Devdas' as the title creates some kind of expectation. It will release in February next year. Before that I will let you know about the changes," Sudhir said at a master class session called 'Meet The Director' here on Monday, which was organised by the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA).
"Aur Devdas" is reportedly inspired by the three characters from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel "Devdas", with Rahul Bhat, Richa Chadha and Aditi Rao Hydari in the cast.
However, Sudhir stated that his film is different from the novel.
"I have taken the characters from the novel but did something very different with them. So after watching the film, I thought to change the name as it is not fitting with the subject and expectation for the film would be improper," the director added.
