Los Angeles, Oct 4 (IANS): The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures may open doors in spring 2018 following a delay due to planning details.
Last month, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences reached an agreement with Fix the City, an advocacy group, with concerns about the impact of the museum on the mid-Wilshire neighbourhood.
The Academy is working with the group to take care of details such as parking and traffic management, reports variety.com.
Plans for the museum were approved by the Los Angeles City Council in June, but there was a threatened suit from Fix The City, an all-volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to protecting and improving Los Angeles neighbourhoods.
According to the group’s website, the agreement with the Academy includes “creative approaches that balance community protection with the creation of a world-class facility".
Now, the Academy will include a traffic and noise monitoring and enforcement systems.
