Delegate registration for IFFI begins


Panaji, Oct 3 (IANS): Delegate registration for the 46th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kicked off on Saturday, the organisers of India's largest international film festival said here.

The statement issued here by the Union ministry for Information and Broadcasting also said that the delegate registration will be closed by November 5.

This edition's inaugural ceremony will be held on November 20 at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee indoor stadium near Panaji.

"The 10-day extravaganza will showcase the best of Indian and world cinema in different sections like Indian Panorama, international section, Indian and foreign retrospectives, tributes and special focus.

"In addition to this, film students, film lovers will also have opportunities to interact with the best directors, producers and technicians' of Indian and the world cinema at workshops and master classes focused on different aspects of film making," the media release said.

Over 12,000 delegates attended the 45th edition of the film festival, which is now being held permanently in Goa, since the festival, which once travelled regularly to major Indian cities, was shifted to Goa permanently in 2004.
