Panaji, Jul 20: Two Goa police officers, who were suspended during the run up for June two Goa polls, are still awaiting action in their matter as neither chargesheet is served on them nor they are reinstated by the state government.
"The officers were suspended by election commission of India and hence we are waiting for their orders,'' Goa chief electoral officer Ramesh Negi told Daijiworld
Two officers including a superintendent of police and an inspector were placed under suspension on April 20, three months ago, for dereliction in their duties.
Both the officers have made the representation to the state chief secretary, who on the other hand has forwarded it to the chief electoral officer. "We have sent their representation to CEC in Delhi and are waiting for the response,'' Negi said.
While run up for the Goa assembly election saw many transfers, these were the only two officers who were placed under suspension, officials stated.
The state government is in a fix as they are not empowered to revoke the suspension or issue the chargesheet against the officers as action was taken by CEC, a senior bureacrat stated.
