Doha: Al Falah Saudi team lifts Hanan Trophy

Doha, Oct 2: The prestigious Hanan Premium League (HPL) cricket trophy 2015 was picked up by Al Falah Cricket team from Saudi Arabia. The tournament was played at the Qatar Cricket stadium on Friday September 25.

The first of its kind GCC level tournament which attracted a huge crowd had a nail biting finish by winning by 2 runs, Mannabal Mannans against Al Muzain of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier Al Muzain won the toss and elected to field. Al Falah finished with 131 for 8 wickets in 10 overs limited match, while Al Muzain gave a tough fight till the end of the last ball and ended up with 129 by losing 3 wickets. Muzair of Al Falah scored 73 in 29 balls with 10 sixes and 1 four, while Khurram of Al Muzain scored 73 in 26 balls with 10 sixes.

The grand event concluded with prize distribution held in the presence of Vasanth Raghunath Dogle, retired assistant police commissioner of Mumbai, Abdul Rahman Vanoo, chairman Hind Foundation, Mumbai and the manager of Henan Cricket Club, Chidananda of M Pallonji Qatar, Abdulla Mono, M D of Euro Parts, Ashmath Ali, MD of Golden Trading and Contracting, Milan Arun and M Iqbal Manna, prominent members from Indian expatriate community.

The man of the match award was taken away by Khurram of Al Muzain, best batsman award was given away to Muzair of Al Falah, best bowler of the tournament was backed by Gyann of Al Muzain and man of the series to Muzair of Al Falah.

The co-ordinators of the tournament were Abdul Khader and Shakeel Ullal. The technical committee was supported by Shammas, Aneez and Zameer Shomeshwara, running commentary by Thufail and Ijaz while umpiring was judged by Abdul Salam, Dr Sanjay Kudri, Surender and Naseem.
