Goa: Now, third FIR filed against senior journalist

Panaji, Oct 2 (TOI): The women and child police station, Panaji, on Thursday, registered a third first information report (FIR) against senior journalist and TV anchor Rupesh Samant in the alleged sexual harassment case.

The police station has registered the case against Samant under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 509 (gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.

Two sexual harassment cases have already been registered against Samant under various IPC sections.

Samant had filed for anticipatory bail before the court, but the police have strongly opposed the same. The matter is likely to come up for hearing next week.
