Lusaka (Zambia), Sep 30 (IANS): Zambia has secured an international soccer friendly against Egypt in the United Arab Emirates next month, its soccer governing body said.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) said on Tuesday that the match was in line with its resolve to keep the national team active on every FIFA-sanctioned date for international friendlies, reports Xinhua.
"Zambia will use the said match to prepare for mainly the two assignments that are on the calendar this year," the soccer governing body said in a statement posted on its website.
Zambia will play Sudan in a FIFA World Cup qualifier match on November 11 while on October 17, the 2012 Africa Cup winners will meet Mozambique in the first leg of the final round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2016 Rwanda finals, the statement added.
Coach Fighton Simukonda has since summoned six foreign-based players for the friendly game.
The six professionals include Collins Mbesuma, Kennedy Mweene, Stopilla Sunzu, Lubambo Musonda, Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala.
