Joseph Gordon-Levitt isn't scared of heights

New York, Sep 28 (IANS): Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose forthcoming biographical drama film “The Walk” kicked off the 53rd New York Film Festival, says he is not scared of heights, much like his character in the film Philippe Petit.

The film tells the story of Petit, the famous high-wire artist who on August 7, 1974, performed for 45 minutes on a tightrope that connected the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

“My dad’s really scared of heights, though,” he said.

“He’s (Petit) such an optimist. He’s such a positive thinker,” Gordon-Levitt said of his character while briefly stopping to talk to reporters on the red carpet, reports variety.com.

The performance is a stretch for the actor, as a leading role that has him speaking in a French accent.

Directed by Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis, the film will be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D formats by Sony Pictures India on October 9.
