Panaji, Jul 16: Professional college students recently hit out at their respective managements, condeming lack of infrastructure available in their colleges. Two major colleges, Goa college of Arts and Goa Architecture college, incidentally, both to do with the creative minds, took to the streets and summoned chief minister Digamber Kamat with their demand of infrastructure.

Incidently, both the colleges are located at a stone's throw away from each other, at Altinho.
 
Goa boasts of being number one state in the country. In all the parameters, it is the best. The plush assembly complex and ministerial block suffices to prove the claim. But whenever one goes to the professional colleges campus, that time, one would find that everything is not all right.

Former education minister Luizinho Faleiro gave a marathon sppech about education during his tenure. Also Goa state infrastructure development corporation (GSIDC) has been set up to take up infrastructural projects in the state. So why are these basic institutions neglected?

The question is not just of infrastructure. The teaching faculty too is the bone of contention. There are not enough teachers. Not enough facilities. Those who have been successful in their professional lives do not bother to visit the college and tutor the students.

Goa government has always been complaining that they do not get enough professors and faculties.

Something should be done to solve this problem. It is a piquant situation with the students at the receiving end..

The arts college have withdrawn their strike while architecture students are already on the road.

Will our chief minister Digamber Kamat do something for the students?
