Mumbai, Sep 27: Actress Hansika Motwani who was last seen in the Hindi movie Money hai to Honey hai, stated in no uncertain terms that her soon to be released movie Puli should not be compared to SS Rajamouli's Baahubali.
The 24 year old actress who predominantly works in the South Indian movie industry, when asked about the ongoing comparisons between her movie and the recent blockbuster Baahubali, she said, “Well, most of Baahubali is fantasy, and so comparisons will be quite unfair. Puli is of a different genre, as you will see.” About her own work in the movie, the actress said, “At my age, a film of this scale is a rare opportunity. Everything about the film — from the background artistes to the VFX — is on a different level. It’s a big budget film, and nothing like the Tamil industry has ever seen.”
Hansika plays the role of a princess in the movie and she revealed that, "I’m like a princess at home… with my mum and brother. That’s easy. But here, I had to maintain a certain posture and look assertive. In other commercial films, I am allowed to take liberties with my dialogue, but in Puli, I couldn’t.” Hansika gracefully acceded credit to her Velayudham co-star Vijay for helping her with the dialogues as they were all in pure Tamil.
Veteran actress Sridevi is also part of the cast of the movie, and Hansika said, . “We bonded a lot. Both of us are Leos; so that helped. I may not have seen all her old films, but I realised I was in the presence of a legend. She helped me tackle a lot of difficult scenes.”
Puli is slated for release on the 1st of October.
