Margao, Sep 25: Konkani Bhasha Mandal will be celebrating its 53rd anniversary on September 30. The grand celebration will take place in Gomant Vidhya Niketan, Margao at 4.30 pm in the presence of the Ajit Gude, advisor, Salgaonkar group. Dr Ulhas Nachinolkar, a well known doctor and writer will be the guest of honour.

The annual Seva (service to Konkani language), Patrakarita (Konkani journalism), Shikshak (Konkani teacher), Karykarto (Konkani activist) and Sahitya (literary) awards will be presented on this day. The students securing highest marks in Konkani at SSC, HSSC, graduate and post graduate levels will be felicitated at the function.

The Mandal on the occasion of its anniversary celebrations is also organising its fourth Adv Arun Singbal Memorial Quiz contest on September 29 at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji in association with Dhempe College, Miramar. The competition is open to all higher secondary schools, colleges and Goa University. The information regarding the same is sent to all the educational institutions.
The winner of the competition will get cash prize worth Rs 2,000, certificate, memento and the rolling trophy. The second prize winner will get Rs 1,500 cash prize, certificate and memento, the third prize winner will get Rs 1, 000 cash prize, certificate and memento and the fourth prize winner will get Rs 500 cash prize, certificate and memento.
