Mr Anand, you can call ISLAM, by any name ( radical-religious-moderate- or the best religion) as you like- but ISLAM will remain as ISLAM. Can you name the religion followed by Mr Modi and his supporters.

By the bye what is the name of the religion followed by Mr Vajpayee and Mr Advani- the Ex- prime minister and Ex- Dy prime minister of India- who closed their eyes to the sufferings of Kasmiri Pundits, Sikh riot victims and Gujrathi people ( other riot victims ), even though they were in power for 5-6 years

You have rightly listed the achievements of Late Indira Gandhi, but you missed one. For your information, It was Late Indira Gandhi and Late Rajiv Gandhi who created LTTE and the LTTE cadres were trained by Indian army on the Indian soil. We know , how the economy of Sri Lanka is ruined and the dreams of thousands of lankans are shattered. As Indians how we will answer to our God for our share in the sufferings of lankans ??.

I am not telling the story. This was reported in the “Out Look India” magazine published from delhi some where in Nov 1997. and also confirmed by Mr Kuldip Nayar in one of his articles “ Ugly Indian”. Mr Kuldip Nayar is a sitting Rajya Sabha member, a journalist and ex-diplomat to the United Kingdom. The outlook magazine gave all the details of the places where LTTE was trained in India.

If any of the readers want to read about the atrocities in Guajrat, they can refer to Out Look Magazine dated May 02, 2002 under the article “The Survivors Speak” Mr Kuldip Nayar has also commented that - “ the truth about the Godhra train burning case will come out one day, but by the time the truth comes out, it will be too late and irreversible damage has been done”.- ( Now every one knows the truth about WMD in Iraq and the days will not be far off to know the truth about Godhra )

Mr Nelson, I appreciate your fitting reply given to Modi supporters. You have truly spoken from your heart and I salute you for shutting the mouths of Modi supporters. Please keep up your fight against the communal mentalities. At the same I thank Daijiworld for publishing the comments of those whose mentality was exposed through his communal and biased views.

Regarding your query for the number of security forces in Kashmir, I read in the articles published in India Today in 1996 / 1997 /1998. If you prove that my figures are not correct, then I will correct my statement. Do you agree with the comments of Mr Purushotam, that the land is grabbed in the name of the religion .If this has happened, then is he is not proving that our security forces have failed to give protection to the Kashmiri pundits.

In my opinion every political party has supported riots at one time or another. After Indira Gandhi assasination, thousands of innocent Sikhs were brutally murdered and most of the leaders leading the riots were ex central ministers. Same with Gujrat. Same with Kashmir where over half million pandits are now living as refugees in their own country.

Now we have to agree to fact that Sikhs and Pandits are equally victims of state sponsored riots but they DONT get the attention of Gujarat riots.Teestas or Netas never visit them. Why is it? Is it because they do not constitute a vote bank? are they second class citizens?

I refer to the comments made by Mr Purushotam. I do not deny that Kashmiri Pundits have suffered, but if the suffering is so much as explained by the reader, then we have to accept one HARD FACT.ie our security forces numbering 10 laks have failed to give the required protection to the Kashmiri pundits inspite of their two decades stay in Kashmir.If the properties are snatched in the name of the religion, then what our security forces are doing there??

Its surprising and indeed unfortunate to read people seeking to justify or belittle the Gujarat riots. It has been one of the worst atrocities in our countries in recent times, something too horrific to even mention here, but dismissing or justifying it seems the in-thing nowadays.

What is even more perplexing is that another reader has sought to justify the atrocities with his own logic, even saying that the Bajrang Dal was "not completely wrong". If the train burning incident (which was indeed horrific in the first place) can justify such state-sponsored atrocities, I wonder what he thinks of terrorists who too tend to justify their acts by touting agressive acts against their communities, including the riots the reader has mentioned.

From whatever has been written, I presume the reader thinks that those who committed these acts should be let off because they, according to his friends, committed only a single mistake, however absurd that may sound. Maybe that is why scores of people have been arrested under POTA for the Godhra incident while all accused in the riots are roaming scot-free.

Incidentally this is also true of the riots that happened before Gujarat, such as the Mumbai riots in 1993. May be it is the readers understanding of the phenomenon called justice - however, I certainly fail to understand this logic. Even in the US, the Americans who targetted Sikhs after 9/11 were promptly punished - they don't take law breakers lightly, irrespective of religion or race.

Since there was also talk about Kashmir, I am sure the reader will agree that the Government should ask the security forces to take similar action against the culprits in Gujarat as it does against militants and their supporters in the valley. if not conduct a similar operation, is too much to ask them to at least charge them in a court of law? Surely he doesn't want a situation where one set of terrorists goes away scot free and are even elected while another set of terrorists get killed (for which the terrorists have no one to blame but themselves).

Let the administration not treat one set of people with kid gloves while going hammer and tongs at another. Let us build a truly harmonious society by treating all law breakers similarly - resentment breeds the moment the impression of favouritism gains ground.

It is good that Mr.Manmohan Singh has learnt to loose sleep for public issues. When he was Finance Minister while the several thousand crores Share Scam took place and many lost their money Mr. Singh had reportedly told that the happening in the Share market did not made him lose his sleep !!

Some people seem to be obseessed with Advani and Gujarath which has become synonym for them. Thats okay. But why they forget what has been happening in Kashmir since last two decades and lakhs of Kashmiri pundits are homeless in their own country, their houses and properties being snatched in the name of Religion!!!.How many killings of men , women and even innocent children have taken place there. May be their plight is less glamorous.

It is very easy to criticize others. Perhaps Advani must have forgotten that there were many such incidents during his time in the union Government and that also as an Union home minister and what he has done to eliminate them?

If he had done something to eliminate them, we would not have perhaps seen 11/7 incident. Did he slept over them? For me, as I said long ago, Advani is a very good 'break dancer'. Never misses the drum beats.

I am amazed that these comments are coming from a person who was a rabble rouser during the demolition of the Babri Masjid. Has he forgotten his crimes or has he become senile? As regards Dr. Manmohan Singh, though I have no admiration for him, I have to admit that this person is very sensitive and his heart would melt at any tragedy. Dr. Manmohan Singh only mentioned that his sympathies are with the people of victims.
