Dubai, Sep 16 (IANS): FC Goa defeated local side Al Shabab 2-1 in their second friendly match here ahead of the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament, starting on October 3.
The Goan franchise were held to a 2-2 draw by local side Al Khaleej in the first practice game of their Dubai pre-tournament training tour.
Jofre Mateu Gonzalez scored from a deflected free-kick in the 29th minute to put Goa ahead at the Al Shabab stadium here on Tuesday.
Al Shabab equalised after converting a penalty before the break to make it 1-1 at halftime.
Goa coach Zico effected several substitutions in the second session. Reinaldo da Cruz Oliveira scored the match-winning goal in the 71st minute.
Goa will play their remaining three matches against local sides Ajmal FC, Al Jazeera Club and Hatta Club on September 16, 19, and 20, respectively.
"It was good because all the players played around 90 minutes with a good level. This was the most important thing in this match. Many things were good during the matches. There are some things that we have to correct," FC Goa coach Zico said in a release.
