Los Angeles, Sep 13 (IANS): Australian singer Sia celebrated achieving five years of sobriety with a rallying and heartfelt message to others battling addictions.
“5 years sober today. If you're newly sober, keep at it, it gets so so awesome. YOU CAN DO IT,” the 39-year-old wrote on Twitter on Thursday, reports dailymail.co.uk.
The "Chandelier" hitmaker has been candid about her issues in the past, even admitting she came close to taking her own life in 2010 due to the pressures of fame.
Sia, whose full name is Sia Furler, later revealed that a friend, who was also trying to follow a sobriety programme, had saved her life by encouraging her fight her demons.
