Panaji, Jul 2: After marathon problems in forming the government, Goa chief minister Digamber Kamat has now settled down and asked the bureacrats to administrative reforms in the key departments.

Addressing the first-ever cabinet meeting, which was attended by all the top bureacrats, the chief minister said that the reforms should be implemented in departments like police, health, municipal administration, collectorate and panchayats, which are directly related to the common people.

``I want to make entire administration people-friendly...strict instructions are issued to all the government officers not to find out excuses,'' Kamat told reporters at Porvorim ministerial block.

The chief minister, who had to spend almost a fortnight in sorting out problems within the coalition, today said that the government would leave no stone unturned to ensure that common people is at comfort.

``The officers are instructed not to make people take rounds of government offices for smaller issues like certificates.... There should be time frame within which the certificate should be issued,'' Kamat said.

The chief minister said that if anyone has a grievance against any officer, they can contact him directly or any of the cabinet colleagues, who would pay attention to it.

Kamat said that the casualty departments in all the hospitals would be strengthened and also medicos would be asked to treat the patients in medico legal cases without waiting for the police to conduct panchnama.
