Mumbai, Sep 7: Salman Khan whose singing prowess has been well liked for the rare but soulful numbers that he has crooned to candidly spoke of how he concentrated on 'her' to sing the song 'Main hoon hero tera...' The hugely popular actor said that while he wasn't as drawn to singing as painting, he did it because it was fun for him.
Elaborating on his singing he said, "Singing is not my next love after painting. I am just doing it for fun. I can't sing to save my life, if you ask me to sing the same song right now I would not be able to do it. Even if I try to sing it on TV it will not sound the same. However, if I am in a studio and they (the music composers) sing every line in front of me, I can mimic that and sing it." He did however clarify about the lady he was thinking of when singing the song by saying, "What's her name... I know you know her name... I just concentrated on her and that's it. So, that feeling automatically came." However, he later killed the excitement by saying it was, "sur". "You concentrate on your 'sur'... That is the name. If the 'sur' is ok then the technicians take care of it. If you get the feel right of the 'sur' the song turns out to be pretty ok."
The 49 year old actor, has lent his voice to various songs in movies such as Kick and Hello Brother. Currently riding high on the stupendous success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman also said, "In films, we have playback singers. People know it is Sonu Nigam or Kumar Sanu, I just wanted to have my own voice there and that's the reason why I decided to sing."
Hero starring Suraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty is being produced by the Dabangg actor under the banner Salman Khan Films and is a remake of the 1983 Jackie Shroff - Meenakshi Sheshadri movie of the same name. Hero is all set to hit theatres on the 11th of September.
