Bengaluru, Sep 5: Director Mahesh Bhatt does not seem inclined to cast his daughter Alia Bhatt in a movie of his own as he believes that she has her own career path that need not necessarily include a movie with him. More importantly he feels that she does not need a boost from him to make it big, and he too would personally prefer to give the opportunity to other new comers.
Mahesh Bhatt reportedly said, "My daughter and me are two different entities. She has a narrative of her own. She is a star... Therefore I don't see the reason why we should for commercial reasons join hands to make a film together. I don't see that," when asked about whether he was considering casting Alia in any of his future ventures. The film maker, however was quick to clarify that his reluctance to cast his own offspring was not because he did not in any way dislike the stars of the movie industry. He said, "I have no aversion to stars, but I feel it challenges me more when I make film with new people and I feel that I enjoy creating destinies, more than creating movies."
Bhatt is currently in the city to be a part of the "Self V Film" Festival, which showcased a number of cancer survivors who shared their story of survival and hope. About the festival at hand, the Hamari Adhuri Kahani producer said, “It is important that they know that there is life after cancer and it can be treated and managed.”
