Monza (Italy), Sep 5 (IANS): Formula One driver of team Mercedes Lewis Hamilton will start the 2015 Italian Grand Prix from pole position after beating team Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen by just over two-tenths of a second in qualifying here on Saturday.
It was Hamilton's seventh consecutive pole and his 11th of the season.
Raikkonen edged Ferrari team-mate Sebastian Vettel by just five-hundredths of a second, with the second Mercedes of Nico Rosberg - handicapped by having to revert to an old-spec engine after a problem in FP3 - fourth, reports formula1.com.
Team Williams' Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas will form the third row, followed by team Force India's Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean of team Lotus.
Driver Nico Hulkenberg was hit by technical woes in the second Force India car and finished ninth, with Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson completing the top ten. Ericsson is also under investigation for allegedly blocking Hulkenberg in the race on Saturday.
Neither of team Red Bull's cards made the cut, already knowing that drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat will start from the back on Sunday's race thanks to penalties.
