Riyadh, Sep 4 (IANS): Authorities at a school in Saudi Arabia have distributed an Apple iPad to all new students at the beginning of the new school year, a media report said on Friday.
The devices were distributed at the Al-Rowad Smart Secondary School in Jubail city, Arab News reported.
"This positive initiative comes as commitment to developing the educational services provided to students in Jubail, improving the educational process and building the creative abilities of future generations," Mohammed Al-Hajri, director of the city's educational services department said.
Mishal Saad Al-Harbi, the school's director said the school is a smart, integrated building fitted with the basic structure of teaching and work systems, but with the added benefits of electronic, interactive and integrated systems to meet the student's needs in terms of curriculum, follow-up, tests, grades, and assignments.
The school is linked to an e-learning system.
The iPad devices are required for students in all academic classes, the director added.
