Goa, Aug 28: Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) will organize a condolence meeting in memory of well-known Konknni personality Joel D’Souza whose sudden death on August 5 shocked his countless friends and associates in the media. The meeting which will be presided over by DKA President Premanand A Lotlikar will be held on Monday August 31 at the academy’s Reginald Fernandes Conference Hall at 4.30 pm.

Although his real name was Jose Sebatian, everyone knew him as Joel. Popular and pro-active on the internet, he made it his mission to capture the myriad facets of Goa’s art and culture on his camera, his constant companion, and shared the same with the Goan diaspora and the world as well. He breathed his last at Mapusa’s District Hospital, aged 68. He also excelled in the written word and worked enthusiastically for Goa Today till his dying day and also regularly took part in the DKA programmes and activities.

DKA secretary Vincy Quadros has appealed to all Konknni lovers and well-wishers to attend the condolence meeting and pay tributes to this great son of Goa.​
