Mumbai, Aug 27: Actor Shahnawaz Pradhan who assayed the role of Hafiz Saeed in the soon to be released, Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif movie Phantom, is reportedly hiding underground for his own protection. Hafiz Saeed who is the leader of the militant group Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD),had complained in a court of Pakistan to ban the movie because he felt the movie disparaged him and his religious associates.
The movie, which has been banned in Pakistan following the complaints filed by Hafiz Saeed tells the story of the 26/11 attacks and is said to be anti-terrorist. Director Kabir Khan who spoke to the media on the issue had said that, "I am feeling a bit strange as the film has been banned even before it reached the Censor Board. It is not an anti-Pakistan Movie. This only an anti-terrorism film and is against the masterminds of 26/11 attack."
Hafiz Saeed, who is believed to have been the mastermind behind the 26/11 blasts in Mumbai that claimed several lives, resides in Pakistan. The makers of the film, apprehensive of facing an attack from the terrorist group, quickly worked to hide their actors as the security of their cast and crew is extremely important to them.
Phantom is said to be an adaptation Mumbai Avengers, a novel by S Hussain Zaidi. The novel apparently tells the story of a retired army officer who leads a group of dedicated people on a secret mission to ferret out and kill terror masterminds, five years post the horrific blasts.
