Mangaluru, Aug 22: To discuss the challenges faced by Kannada film industry and to commemorate the successful completion of more than 50 tulu movies, Karnataka Chalanachithra Acadamy in collaboration with Manipal media network ltd and department of information and public relations will hold a seminar on August 29. This was revealed by S V Rajendra Singh Babu, chairman of The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy (KCA) here at a press meet held at Circuit House on August 22.
Speaking at the press meet S V Rajendra Singh Babu said, "Kannada movies are facing a tough time due to heavy competition from other language movies. This challenge is not only faced by kannada movies but by regional languages as well. A top media team has conducted a research on the challenges faced by the Kannada industry and the reasons for them."
"In this direction the findings will be revealed at the seminar to be held at T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal on August 29 at 10.30 am by Dr Gururaj Kidiyur. Dr Sandya S Pai, managing editor of Tharanga magazine will inaugurate the seminar. Dr Kidiyur will give a brief report on the research findings."
"At 5.00 pm the same evening tulu chithra sambrama will be held at Syndicate Bank Golden Jubilee Hall, Manipal. Vinay Kumar Sorake, district incharge minister of Udupi will inaugurate the tulu chithra sambrama. The book written by Thamma Laxman 'tulu basheya suvarna chithragalu' will be released by R Roshan Baig, minister for Infrastructure Development, Information and Haj. Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi will preside over the function. Dr Mohan Alva, president of Alva's education foundation will talk about the book 'tulu basheya suvarna chithragalu'.
Forest and ecology minister, Ramanath Rai, health minister U T Khader, fisheries minister Abhaya Chandra Jain, member of parliament, Shobha Karandlaje and Naleen Kumar Kateel will be the chief guests at the occasion.
H B Dinesh, registrar of Karnataka Chalanachithra Academy and Dr Gururaj Kidiyur were present at the press meet.
