Mumbai, Aug 20: Kangana Ranaut who is now being touted as the highest paid female actor in Bollywood, spoke candidly of her work for her soon to be released romantic thriller Katti Batti. The actress who recently delivered the staggeringly hit movie Tanu Weds Manu Returns, is said to have cashed a cheque of Rs 11 crores for playing role of Payal in Katti Batti.
Speaking about her movie, Kangana said “From the promos, what people are feeling is obviously that it is a modern love story.
But it’s much more than that. If you see the film, it unfolds like a thriller though it is basically a love story. Girl and boy like always are meeting and falling in love, but the difference is that this girl has suddenly disappeared, the mystery about who is she and where has she disappeared unfolds during the course of the film. Whoever has seen the film has loved it, Aamir Khan loved it. The aspect that people actually love about the film is the innovative manner of narrating the love story. As far as the songs are concerned, ‘Sarfira’ has already become popular and we have received good response for the film till now."
Speaking of the hike in her prices, the actress said, "There is a huge gap between the remuneration of an actor and actress... it will take time (to reduce the gap). Male actors get into production, share profit and they don't take money at times but are involved in some capacity which is economical and resourceful. These things suit them as they have made a place for themselves, they have command over the box office. There is no reason comparison now."
