Mangalore, Jun 15: PU board deputy director Sheelavati Kolambe was felicitated at a programme organized by the DK district PU college principals’ association here on Thursday June 14.
Speaking on the occasion chairman of Nitte Education Trust N Vinay Hegde said that a teacher has to set an example for students to help them to become good citizens. He further said that Sheelavati Kolambe is an excellent model for students.
Many a time students who outshine at the PU level fail to make a mark in CET. This clearly indicates that the system lacks something, he added.
PU college principals from all over the district honoured her with garlands and bouquets. Association district president Chandrakala Nandavar, who presided over the programme, presented a gold bangle to Sheelavati. Later, Fr Lawrence D’Souza read out the commemorative inscription.
Dennis Prabhu vice-president of Catholic Education Board and others were present.
