Wulanchabu (China), Aug 13 (IANS): Saweety Boora was the lone bright spot for India at the Asian Women's Boxing Championships, defeating Dilnovaz Narkhodzhayeva of Uzbekistan to enter the final of the 81 kilogram category here on Thursday.
Boora, who outclassed Narkhodzhayeva 3-0 in the semi-finals, will face home favourite Yang Xiaoli in the battle for the gold medal. The Chinese girl edged out Kazakhstan’s Moldir Bazarbayeva 2-1 in her last-four stage bout.
Boora was the only Indian to make it to the title clash as the rest of her compatriots crashed out at the last-four stage of their respective weight categories.
Meena Kumari was no match for Nesty Petecio of Philippines, going down 0-3 in the 54kg division. World Championships silver medallist Sarjubala Shamjetsabam (48kg) also lost went down by a similar margin to E.Naiyan of China.
Pwilao Basumatary (57kg) and Seema Punia also lost by identical 0-3 margins to Tassamelee Thongjan of Thailand and China's Wang Shijin respectively.
