Mangalore, Jun 12: The newly-constructed bridge on the road between Bejai Church and Karangalpady market was inaugurated here on Monday June 11.
Speaking after inaugurating the bridge, district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty said the new bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 14.60 lac, is 7.50 metres in width. The bridge was constructed in 45 days, he said.
The old bridge had been constructed during the British era and was 70 years old. The new bridge has a pavement for pedestrians.
Among those present were mayor Vijaya Arun, deputy mayor Abdul Salim, MLA N Yogish Bhat, MCC commissioner Krishnappa and others.
