Kundapur, Jun 10: Applications are invited by the Ranga Adhyayana Kendra (Centre of Theatre Studies) at the Bhandarkar’s College here for admission for the one-year diploma course in the art of dramatics.

The centre is affiliated to the Kannada University of Hampi. On due completion of the diploma course, successful candidates would be given certificates by the said university.

The minimum qualification for admission is SSLC. Free mid-day meals will also be arranged for the students. The classes will be conducted every day from 7 a.m to 8.30 p.m for a total duration of 12 hours. The approved syllabus would include body language [angika], delivery of expression [vachika], moderation [satwika], aharya and experimentation [prayoga].

Both lectures and slides will be arranged throughout the year in equal measures and  experts would be invited from outside, besides the in-house teachers. The centre also has a well-equipped building and a well-stocked library.

Application forms can be obtained either in person or by post by sending a DD for Rs 100 drawn in favor of Bhandarkar’s Trust. The last date for submission of application will be June 30, 2007.

Outstation applicants will have to personally bear the cost of  travel and accommodation etc for interview, which will be held only on July 15.
