Los Angeles, Aug 11 (IANS): Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner has promised to pay for a transgender woman to study nursing.
The “I Am Cait” star decided to use her "privilege" to help Blossom Brown fulfill the nurse's dream career after meeting with her at a Human Rights Campaign office in San Francisco and hearing how she was rejected from her studies because of discrimination, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Blossom told Caitlyn and her friends: "It bothers me to this day when I see those students that I went to school with in nursing school getting those degrees and the only reason that I didn't get in was because I'm trans."
Later in the episode of her reality show, Caitlyn spoke to her friends about her own "wonderful position" in life and how she wants to use it to do good.
She said: "I've lived a great life, and I realised in this transition I kind of have that privileged status. You were a white guy, I worked hard, I was able to put a few dollars away. So, I'm blessed. I'm in a wonderful position in life.
"Boy oh boy, what I'm learning. It's shocking for me to see the struggles that are out there."
