Mumbai, Aug 11 (Agencies): 'pk' filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani met with a bike accident on Tuesday morning and was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He is fine and will get discharged soon, a hospital official said.

According to sources one of Hirani's employees had purchased a new motorcycle and asked him if he wanted to ride it. The 52-year-old director agreed and was driving at a low speed, but could not manage the bike's weight and fell .

Hirani has apparently fractured his jaw and sustained a gash on the chin in the mishap and is likely to be operated.

"He is in the hospital... he is in the ICU. He is fine, nothing serious. He will be discharged today. We can't talk right now," a relative of Hirani told PTI.

The director, screenwriter and film editor is best known for the movies 'Munna Bhai MBBS' (2003), 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' (2006), '3 Idiots' (2009) and 'pk' (2014).

All the films directed by Hirani went on to become huge successes at the box office.
