Mangalore, Jun 8: Fr L F Rasquinha SJ, former prinicpal of St Aloysius College, passed away in Colaco Hospital here on Friday afternoon. He was 82.

Fr Rasquinha joined the Society of Jesus 63 years ago. He was ordained a Jesuit Priest in 1957. He had celebrated his Golden Jubilee of Priesthood in May 2007, along with three other Jesuit priests - Frs Walter Albuquerque, A.S. Rodrigues, and Hilary Pereira.

Fr L F, as he was known, was trained in Physics. He was the principal of St Aloysius College for a long time, besides being the rector. After his retirement, he served as the treasurer of the Karnataka Jesuit Province for 14 years. In the last 10 years, he was resident at St Aloysius College, Mangalore.

On June 7, Fr LF had a fall following a stroke and had been taken to the hospital in an unconcsious state. There he breathed his last on June 8.

His mortal remains will be brought to the St Aloysius chapel at 2-00 pm on Saturday, June 9 and will remain for final homage, until prayer service t 4 pm, followed by interment in the Jeppu Jesuit cemetery.
