Delhi-bound plane returns to Mumbai, all safe

Mumbai, Aug 8 (IANS): A Mumbai-Delhi Indigo flight was forced to return barely 15 minutes after take-off due to a technical snag on Saturday morning, an airport official said here.

All 150 passengers and crew aboard flight 6E-178 are safe and there was "no emergency landing" at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, the official said.

The budget airline's flight had departed at around 9.45 a.m., some 15 minutes late. But after remaining airborne for another 15 minutes, the co-pilot announced it would return to Mumbai due to some technical problems.

Though Indigo officials were not available for comment, reports said a suspected leakage in the fuel system compelled the aircraft to turn back to Mumbai.
