Griezmann extends contract with Atletico till 2019

Paris, Aug 8 (IANS): French forward Antoine Griezmann extended his contract with Atletico Madrid until June 2019, according to reports in the French media.

The forward's contract with the Spanish club was supposed to last until June 2018, but has been extended for another year, reports Efe.

French paper L'Equipe on Friday cited the player's agent as saying that Griezmann has already completed the extension, but the Spanish club has not yet confirmed the news.

The 24-year-old Frenchman, born in Macon in the Burgundy region, scored 22 goals in La Liga and 9 goals in the Champions League in his first season with Atletico Madrid.
