Defender Muniesa renews Stoke contract till 2019

London, Aug 8 (IANS): Spanish defender Marc Muniesa has renewed his contract with Stoke City for until June 2019, the English club officially announced.

"Stoke City are delighted to announce that defender Marc Muniesa has agreed a new four-year deal at the Britannia Stadium," the club said in a statement as published on its website on Friday, reports Efe.

The defender, a former Under-21 international, arrived in England two years ago from Barcelona and played 39 games with the Potters.

Stoke City will start the 2014-2015 English Premier League season on Sunday in a home tie against Liverpool.
