Panaji, Jun 6:  The smaller regional parties have adopted the wait-and-watch formula as none of the major national parties has managed to get even a simple majority in the Goa polls.

"How can I tell you anthing right now ? Let me meet my party officials," said Churchill Alemao, president, Save Goa Front, who has two legislators on his side, told PTI.

"We will wait and watch as no one has asked for our support till now to form the government," Alemao said. The SGF has kept equi-distance from Congress and BJP during elections.

Similarly, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), an alliance partner in ruling Pratapsingh Rane-led coalition, too has adopted the wait-and-watch strategy. "We will sit and discuss before deciding anything," MGP president Pandurang Raut said.

The MGP president said that they have not yet received any communication asking for their support to form the government.
