Bahrain, Aug 7: The Bahrain based highflying youth organizer and social activist, non-resident-Indian Leeladhar Baikampady has been selected for the coveted national level ‘Samaaj Ratna Award – 2015’ by the Bengaluru based esteemed Jnana Mandara Educational and Cultural Academy.
He has been chosen for this revered national level award in recognition of his remarkable and unceasing contributions to the diversified fields of youth organizing, social service, land and language, literature, culture, charity and also for social organization related activities carried out in his life since the past 28 years.
He is the recent recipient of two national level prestigious awards namely, ‘Rashtreeya Bhushan’ national award from Bengaluru based ‘Bharath Ratna Sir M Vishweshwarayya Foundation’ and ‘Rastreeya Ektaa Award’ from New Delhi based ‘All India National Unity Council’. Now the just attained ‘Samaaj Ratna’ national level award is his third national level award in a row which makes him the first ever Bahrain based non-resident-Indian or Kannadiga to have 3 consecutive awards feat in less than a year’s period.
Starting from a very young age, he has engaged himself in organizing the youth, serving the society and humanity through his multidimensional activities and still continuing all his activities in the locations like undivided South Kanara, Bengaluru, Mumbai and also in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His invaluable contributions to the multiple fields are assessed on the basis of numerous activities and exemplary services carried out by him on his own capacity and by getting involved with various groups and associations based in different locations in India and abroad.
Leeladhar Baikampady has done his studies in Mangaluru and Mumbai and acquired professional degrees like Mcom. and MBA. He is a group financial controller by profession and has been living in the Kingdom of Bahrain since the past 17 years. He has been involved in the activities of various associations in Bahrain, Mumbai, Baengaluru and undivided South Kanara. He also serves the society in his individual capacity and through the family foundation namely Kaanchan Foundation. He has been well-recognized as the youth activist, youth organizer, social and charity activist, writer, award winning stage artist, progressive thinker and a dynamic youth leader.
Right from his schooldays he has possessed dynamic leadership and he later became the senator of Mangaluru University by representing all electoral collages of the university. Now in Bahrain, he is the member of esteemed social organizations like The Indian Club, Karnataka Social Club, Maharashtra Cultural Society and he also serves as the decadal president of Mogaveers Bahrain which is presently engaged in their year-long decennial celebrations. He is also respected as the front runner in the formation of some of the associations back in India and abroad.
Besides all, as a great achievement by any non-resident-Kannadiga in Bahrain, he had all alone fulfilled the long-awaited dream of the non-resident-Kannadigas of Bahrain in November 2008 by meeting the former chief minister of Karnataka Dr B S Yedyurappa in Bengaluru and persuaded him to visit Bahrain and also succeeded in gaining his assurance of Rs 1 crore aid from the state government’s fund for the construction of Kannada Bhavan in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was a much preferred wish of the non-resident–Kannadiga fraternity of Bahrain to witness the first ever visit by any chief minister from the state of Karnataka to Bahrain Island.
Considering all the above amazing achievements in various fields, valuable contributions to the society and also by recognizing the effective leadership, the Bengaluru based Jnana Mandara Educational and Cultural Academy has picked the steadfast youth organizer and social activist Leeladhar Baikampady for its revered national level ‘Samaaj Ratna Award- 2015’ and this award will be presented to him in the presence of dignified guests at the award presentation ceremony which will be organized during early August in Bengaluru, officially revealed the aademy secretary H Somashekhar.
