Gurgaon, Aug 6 (IANS): Striker Manandeep Singh expressed happiness on Thursday at getting the opportunity to play for Kerala Blasters in the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament.
Manandeep, who hails from Haryana's Hisar, played in the first edition of ISL for Delhi Dynamos franchise last year.
Manandeep is currently in Norway undergoing a month's fitness and training course in preparation for ISL that begins on October 3.
Speaking on the phone from there, Manandeep said he was happy at having been selected by Kerala Blasters.
He expressed gratitude to Blasters coach Trever James Morgan saying he was glad that the British-born coach has reposed faith in his abilities.
Manandeep received a career-hampering knee injury last year and his Norway trip is part of his preparations to make himself fit.
The 22-year-old began his senior career in 2010-11 for the now defunct Pailan Arrows team in the I-League. Since then he has played for Air India, Kolkata giants East Bengal and north eastern club Rangdajied United.
He made his international debut for the Indian senior team in 2012.
