Paris, Aug 5 (IANS): Argentine international Angel di Maria will travel from Doha to Paris on Wednesday where he is expected to make his official transfer to French football club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from English side Manchester United.
PSG has agreed to pay United 63 million euros for the transfer. The midfielder, who passed his medical examination in Qatar, will be the second most expensive player in French league history as PSG paid 64 million euros in 2013 to sign Uruguayan Edinson Cavani from Italian side Napoli, reports Efe.
The Argentinean is expected to suit up as a right wing for PSG where neither of di Maria's PSG compatriots Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Pastore managed to prove themselves in recent seasons.
The 27-year-old signed a four-year contract. In addition to the transfer amount, PSG will pay around 10 million euros per season as wage to the midfielder.
In his first and only season for United, di Maria featured in 32 games, including 27 English Premier League ties, and scored just four goals.
