PSG's Luiz wants to finish career in MLS

Paris, Aug 3 (IANS): French football club Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz, who has been in the United States for the team's pre-season training, said he would like to continue his career in Major League Soccer (MLS).

"Frankly, I loved playing over there. In 5-10 years, MLS will be one of the most important championships in the world," the 28-year-old said, noting how great players have been recruited to play for US teams. "That will be the future for many of us," he said, reports Efe.

Luiz, whose contract with the French club will last until June 2019, said, "The rest of my career may be in the United States. I love the lifestyle here."

He added that even during PSG's friendly matches in the United States, the spectators were "excited" and "the stadiums magnificent and full".

Luiz, who also has a Portuguese passport, joined PSG last year from Chelsea for four seasons for 50 million euros.
