Panaji, Jun 1: The final phase of the campaign for the forthcoming Goa Assembly Polls ended at 5 in the evening.
As the campaign ended, about 23 companies of the central para-military force pulled their socks up and got on their job.
The jawans were seen marching on the streets of the captial after 5.00 pm. Altogether 23 companies of the central para-mMilitary force has been deployed in the State along with 7 local Companies for the June 2 assembly polls.
Over 250 polling booths across the state have been identified as sensitive and hypersensitive by the Election Commission.
The central force is expected to face a greater challenge in maintaining law and order in the state during the elections.
The strength of the central Security force deployed in the state is almost the double of what was used in the last elections in 2002.
