Mangaluru, Jul 31: The Urva police have made another arrest in connection with a complaint which alleged defrauding of a person by convincing him about the ownership of a land owned by someone else and defrauding him to the tune of Rs 2.51 crore.

The person now arrested happens to be Yogeesh Kumar Alva (45) from Salethur in Kolanadu village of Bantwal taluk. After he was produced in court, Alva was remanded to judicial custody till August 3.

The case relates to a complaint filed by Abhinay Sorake, lecturer of a city-based dental college. Fake documents were created about the ownership of 3.36 acres of land at Pachchanadi in the city, which was sold to him for a purchase consideration of Rs 2,51,15,000. Sorake came to know that the land he bought actually belonged to someone else.

The case had come to the fore on April 15 this year. Out of 12 accused in the case, eight have been arrested so far.
