Nepali arrested in Goa for hoax terror call


Panaji, July 30 (IANS): A 40-year-old Nepali was arrested on Thursday for making a hoax call to the police under influence of alcohol, claiming that seven terrorists had entered Goa to unleash mayhem, an officer said.

The call was made at 12 midnight to the police control room by Neem Bahadur, Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Umesh Gaonkar told IANS.

"The accused said seven terrorists had entered Goa to spread terror and hung up. After that, his phone was switched off. When it was switched on again Thursday morning, we located its position and arrested him from (south Goa's) Cortalim village," Gaonkar said.

Bahadur confessed that he was drunk at the time of making the call, he added.

"We are still questioning him," Gaonkar said.
