South Ayrshire (Scotland), July 29 (IANS): British golfer Georgia Hall on Wednesday said the Women's British Open is the biggest tournament in the world and she is ready to take up the challenge at the event which is starting at the Trump Turnberry here on Thursday.
The 19-year-old made her way to her first Major after passing qualifying at the Irvine Golf Club on Monday. She will only have one practice round here, but is very excited at the opportunity.
"For me, it's the biggest tournament in the world and the greatest Major," Hall was quoted as saying by BBC.
Hall finished tied 33rd at the Scottish Open at Troon on Sunday before shooting a four-under-par 70 at Irvine to guarantee a spot at the British Open.
"I've never played at Turnberry, but I've walked a lot of the holes and noticed there's a number of bunkers in my driving distance. I'll probably have to adjust my iron shots, but links golf suits me and it's nice to get out on these courses when I can," she said.
